4-Color Printing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The IFS (Intelligent Filament System) is the AD5X's standout feature. Unlike printers that require a separate external filament box, the IFS is integrated with the printer and automatically loads, unloads, and switches between four filament channels.

It can also automatically switch to another spool when one spool runs out, which is useful for long single-color jobs.

One limitation is that the AD5X uses a single nozzle, so multi-color printing requires filament purging during color changes. That means multi-color jobs can consume additional filament and take longer than equivalent single-color prints. Community users specifically report that purge waste can be substantial on some models.
